L3 Differentiation
AS91578
Apply differentiation methods in solving problems
AS91578 is the differentiation exam in Level 3 Calculus. It covers differentiating trig, exponential and log functions with the chain, product and quotient rules, and using derivatives: features of graphs, gradients and rates of change, tangents and normals, stationary and inflection points, parametric functions, related rates, optimisation, kinematics, and checking that a function satisfies a differential equation. About half of the Excellence questions since 2021 have involved an unknown constant, or a tangent or shape on a given curve.
